Measuring Body Fat Is Important for Determining Fitness
Weight
alone is not a clear indicator of good health because
it does not distinguish between pounds that come from
body fat and those that come from lean body mass or
muscle. Carrying too much fat is called obesity, and
puts a person at risk for many serious medical conditions
including heart disease, diabetes and even certain forms
of cancer. In fact obesity contributes to at least half
the chronic diseases in western society. That is why
on our program Body Composition testing every 4 days
are performed . We feel Feedback is Key.

Overweight
means an excess of total body weight based on population
averages for heights and body frame size. Athletes and
very muscular people may be overweight, but that does
not mean they are over fat. Obesity means an excess
of body fat regardless of weight.
WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF BEING
OVERWEIGHT AND HAVING TO MUCH BODY FAT?

Coronary
Heart Disease, Stroke, Arteriosclerosis, Diabetes,
Several Forms of Cancer , Depression, Loss of body
Strength. In Men Higher Estrogen levels.
Medical
professionals have determined that a healthy range of
body fat is
14%-23% for men,
and 17%-27% for women,
depending
on age (see chart above). But until recently, accurate
methods for measuring and monitoring body fat have not
been available to the average person. In our spa the
average we see is between 30 - 50% body fat before our
program and 20% - 30%. after our program.

Eating
Healthy
For
most people, maintaining a desirable weight and body
fat percentage can only be achieved through an integrated
program of nutrition and exercise-or balancing energy
intake with energy expenditure. To reduce weight and
body fat requires cutting back on calories and increasing
the amount of exercise. Dieting alone won't work. Even
when a person's weight-control system has genetic flaws
that may respond to newly available pharmaceuticals,
proper nutrition and plenty of exercise is still part
of the prescription for health.
Appearances can be deceiving!
Men A, B and C are exactly the same height. A and B
have the same weight, and C weighs considerably more.
For his height C appears to be fat. But after analyzing
body fat levels, B and C have acceptable percentages
while A has above the recommended range and is at a
higher health risk.
Food
Pyramid
Most
North Americans have more than enough to eat, but many
people don't eat a healthy range of foods. Consuming
too many calories from any kind of food source can produce
fat. One of the best models for healthy eating is represented
in the Food Pyramid.
To
get the proper daily nutritional value: Eat more fresh
food and less fast prepared food.
- Eat
a variety of foods, Drink 2 liters of water a day.
- Eat
a high-fiber diet (choose more grains, fruits and
vegetables instead of protein, fats and sugar)
- Maintain
a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet (eat no more than
30% of calories from fat, including only 10% from
saturated fat)
- Use
moderate amounts of salt and sodium and choose sugar
substitutes
- Limit
alcoholic intake
- Breaking
Old Habits , Try to form new healthy habits and write
them down.
Often
the first step to a good diet lies in changing food
and eating behavior:

Don't
skip meals, Especially breakfast .Your body will
consume its own muscle for protein and you will
get flabby.

Eat
a series of small meals throughout the day and avoid
a big meal late in the evening 5 Small meals
a day is recommended.
Protein shakes are a great way to start the day.

Eat
and chew slowly

Use
a smaller-sized plate to achieve a "full plate"

Start

program has been divided into 2 sections. Just EMS and
EMS with weight training. The EMS and weight training
consists of 1 on 1 personal weight training , nutritional
counseling along with using the EMS units. We find that
the combination of the 2 produces 200 - 300% faster
results than either alone. Therefore we sell sessions
and time ( monthly ) packages. On our time packages
you can come every day. Most clients come 3 - 5 times
a week. Each EMS/Workout session takes 90 minutes .The
EMS alone program takes 60 minutes per session. We have
all new software and improved program for the year 2003.
